For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
— Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)

Pastor M. Todd Zill

The Rev. Marcus Todd Zill most recently served for the past four years as the LCMS campus pastor at the University of Arizona in Tucson.  Prior to coming to Arizona, he served for six years as the LCMS director of Campus Ministry and was the creator of LCMS U, the Synod's college student organization. He was deployed and chose to live in Albuquerque, NM. In that position, he facilitated connectivity among those engaged in campus ministry; oversaw numerous campus ministry conferences, training events and the development of related resources; and hosted a radio program through the Synod's radio station, KFUO, called The Student Union.

Prior to beginning work in that position, Zill served for more than 15 years as the full-time campus pastor at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and Campus Center in Laramie, Wyo., working with students at the University of Wyoming. During that time, he also helped found Higher Things, a youth-oriented Recognized Service Organization, and served for seven years as its Christ on Campus Executive. He was also extremely involved with a group of LCMS pastors who traveled annually to train indigenous pastors in West Africa, specifically Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Pastor Zill is a 1996 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN, was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, and was a former public middle school teacher. He has also lived in WA, UT, NE, NC, MT and OK, but his geographic heart is the Southwest, though he does remain an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan. He loves the outdoors, Hatch green chili on anything, a good western, good friends, all things related to Godzilla (aka. ToddZilla) and is rumored to make the world's best margarita. He has two sons, Sterling (28) and Grant (25), and he looks forward to soon getting a rescue chihuahua and re-learning to play the harmonica in the future.
