Rare Fresco of Good Shepherd Found in Turkey
Archaeologists in northwestern Turkey have uncovered one of the most important finds from the region’s early Christian era: a fresco of a Roman-looking Jesus as the “Good Shepherd.” The paint was discovered in an underground tomb near Iznik (formally known as Nicea), the very place where the Nicene Creed was adopted in A.D. 325.
Kantorei to sing in Mesa (Jan 10)
The main choir from one of our two seminaries, Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN is touring New Mexico and Arizona during their post Christmas/Epiphany break. The easiest way to hear them would be for late afternoon Epiphany Evening Prayer at Eternal Life Lutheran church in Mesa.
